Anasazi Student Named Grand National Champion in the 2013 National Handwriting Contest

Madison Hepner, a 2nd grade student at Anasazi Elementary School, has been named a Grand National Champion in the 2013 National Handwriting Contest sponsored by Zaner-Bloser.

Madison was one of 16 students from across the nation to emerge as a National Winners. Of those winners, eight students earned the contest’s highest honor to represent the best in their grade level across the country as the Grand National Champion. National Grade-Level Winners competed head-to-head to earn the top prize for each grade level, Grand National Champion. See Handwriting Contest
3 SUSD Schools Earn AEF A+ School of Excellence Award

Anasazi, Cherokee and Tavan elementary schools each have the distinction of being named a 2013 A+ School of Excellence by the Arizona Educational Foundation (AEF).

A+ Schools are evaluated through an extensive application and rigorous site visit by the AEF A+ review panel, which consist of teachers, administrators, community volunteers and business leaders. Preparation of each school's application involves its students, faculty, administration and surrounding community.

This is the fourth time that Anasazi has been honored with this award. Anasazi received the honor in 1995, 2003 and 2009. Tavan is the largest elementary school to receive this award.

Campus Safety

Important! Safety! Important!
The playground gates do not open and school staff supervision is not available until 8:25am
every school day. Please do not drop your children off at school before then.
The Kids club early bird program is available through Community Education for those who need to drop off their children before the campus opens at 8:25am. Remember... there is always the school bus!
Thank you!
